Corporate accounting plays an essential role in producing reliable, relevant and compliant financial information. The Senior Analyst actively participates in the preparation and analysis of the Bank and its subsidiaries'financial information.The holder contributes to the preparation of consolidated financial statements and quarterly and annual financial disclosures. He also participates in external audit work as well as continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency and quality of financial processes.
This position is an excellent opportunity to develop in-depth expertise in financial reporting in a complex and evolving banking environment.
Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Controls
- Prepare, analyze, and review certain accounting entries.
- Participate in the accounting and analysis of loan losses and related provisions (IFRS 9).
- Ensure the accounting of certain other activities related to financial instruments.
- Prepare or revise financial statements for subsidiaries.
External Financial Information
- Participate in the preparation of the Bank's quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare and review notes to financial statements and other financial disclosures.
- Perform the necessary analyses and reconciliations to support the published information.
Audit and Compliance
- Collaborate with external auditors on quarterly and annual audits.
- Prepare documentation and analyses required to support audit processes.
- Participate in maintaining a rigorous financial control environment.
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to the optimization and documentation of financial information production processes.
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting or regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate on various financial projects impacting financial disclosure processes.
- Act as a resource person for internal partners on accounting matters.
- Contribute to sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
Qualifications
Training and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA professional designation.
- 5 years of relevant experience in external audit, financial accounting or financial reporting.
- Experience in the financial services or banking sector is an asset.
- Good knowledge of IFRS.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of financial instruments and banking activities, an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English.*
