Job Description

Under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor of the Infusion Centre and the general supervision of the Technical Platform Manager – Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the incumbent is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies.

Position is located in the Glen site hospital, a unique 5,000 m² centre dedicated exclusively to clinical research.

General Duties

  • Acts as a resource person to assist in the care of research patients requiring complex care.
  • Administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patients.
  • Administers experimental innovative therapies by infusion to research patients.
  • Infuses blood products when necessary.
  • Evaluates the health status of research patients.
  • Determines if a research patient can continue their treatments.
  • Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight of the research patient and their families in clinical research trials.
  • Provides appropriate resources to patients.
  • Ensures proper research documentation.
  • Reviews and documents protocol training.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing with extra certification.
  • Good standing member of the OIIQ.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical / surgical, ICU or Emergency Room.
  • Certifications: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Health Canada Division 5 (an asset).
  • Bilingual: French and English spoken and written.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Self‑directed, flexible, organized with a good sense of work ethics.

Additional Information

Status: Full time

Pay Scale: $55,692 – $103,412.40 (commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Work Shift: 35 hours per week, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, with opportunity to add hours sporadically in the evening or on weekends.

Work Site: Centre for Innovative Medicine, MUHC Glen Site, Oncology Satellite, Cedars Cancer Centre. May require occasional travel.
