Den här positionen rapporterar till : Production Manager
As a Production Supervisor, you will report to the Head of Production & Maintenance and ensure continuous and efficient production operations in accordance with plans, procedures, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will manage resources to achieve objectives.
This position contributes to the Electrification – Smart Buildings division of ABB Canada and is based in Dorval.
The work model is 100% on-site at our Dorval plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of approximately 30 employees.
- Oversee the daily planning of activities in the emergency lighting manufacturing sector, ensuring alignment between customer needs and production capacity.
- Identify gaps in the production line, propose improvements, and oversee their implementation.
- Identify and recommend equipment and facility improvements.
- Manage human resources appropriately, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, compensation, disciplinary records, and vacation planning.
- Ensure skill development among workers to increase flexibility.
- Deliver clear and effective communications as needed and foster an open and inclusive environment. Coach and motivate team leaders and employees, promoting a participative environment and change management.
- Work closely with other departments and services as needed.
- Uphold ABB's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the company.
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in operations management or equivalent.
- Bilingual in French and English. English is required to communicate with clients outside of Quebec.
- 2 years of supervisory experience (managing 20 to 30 people).
- Comfortable using computer software (Word, Excel, integrated systems such as AS400 or SAP).
- Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence a team.
- Autonomous, highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to handle emergency situations and make quick decisions.
- Ability to manage change and act as a change agent.
- Ability to work in a team and interact with various members of the organization.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts is an asset.
- Knowledge of electricity or electronics is an asset.
