TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE, ENGINEERED WOOD PRODUCTS (U.S.)
Role – The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for actively promoting the company, its products and services to key stakeholders in various engineered wood products (EWP) distribution networks as well as the engineering and architectural sectors. He or she will establish and maintain strategic relationships to generate new business opportunities and close major transactions for the supply of engineered wood products in residential construction.
Responsibilities
Nordic Structures is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join a growing team and contribute to the success of a Canadian company. Primary responsibilities include business development and sales.
Business Development:
- Serve as a main point of contact for distributors and retailers.
- Advance and maintain a strong corporate-level network within the building, engineering and architecture sectors.
- Identify market trends and growth opportunities to support the company’s manufacturing expansion.
- Participate in industry events, select the best outreach venues with the highest ROI potential, and represent the company, its products and services, and its values.
- Prepare and deliver formal and informal presentations tailored to various audiences.
- Provide technical support and product knowledge to clients and designers.
- Maintain strategic awareness of competitors and market positioning.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth in existing and emerging markets in North America.
- Manage the complete sales cycle independently, from prospecting to closing.
- Lead contract negotiations, handle objections, and secure agreements.
- Prepare and provide sales reports, forecasts, and feedback.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Profile Sought
The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional, a rigorous and proactive person, and a team player, with the following prerequisites:
- Proven experience in business development and/or sales within the building, construction, engineering or architecture industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both formal and impromptu).
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and overcome objections.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
- Good understanding of market dynamics and competitors.
- Technical knowledge of building materials.
- Bilingualism in English/French (an asset).
