Responsibilities

  • Performs the management and investment of the pension plan cash positions;
  • Maintains, verifies and reconciles internal and custody accounting records for investment valuations and transactions, contributions and benefit payments;
  • Responsible for the production of audited year-end financial statements and management of the audit process;
  • Conducts the ongoing oversight of the defined contribution plans and investment options;
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with the Pension Fund governing policies, monitors regulatory developments and industry best practices;
  • Monitors activities and reporting of investment managers and other external service providers and ensures their compliance with contractual and mandate terms;
  • Assists in the production of ongoing reporting to the Corporate Board and decision-making supporting documentation, as well as for internal communications;
  • Monitors capital markets developments and rebalancing requirements;
  • Assists in researching and evaluating capital market opportunities and investment products;

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)

  • Must have an undergraduate degree in business / finance;
  • Enrolled in the CFA program, completed level 1;
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience;
  • Prior experience in pension, custody, performance measurement and / or consulting roles in an institutional context;
  • Strong interest for and knowledge of capital markets in various asset classes;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work with databases of different vendors (Reuters, Preqin, etc.);
  • Manages time and resources effectively;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Communicates messages clearly and effectively in both French and English (written and oral);
  • Seeks opportunities to collaborate with others;
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork capabilities;
  • Possesses strong technical and analytical skills;
  • Is curious, rigorous and critical;
  • Makes sound decisions and validates decisions with more experienced colleagues when required;
  • Shows initiative in solving problems.
