Education Consultant - General Adult Education

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Vocational Training, the Education Consultant is responsible for implementing the curriculum.

Fonctions et responsabilités

• Develop and share educational skills among teachers and other consultants on an individual or group basis, particularly in relation to personal development, professional development, and distance learning;
• Inform the community of any developments related to implementation of new programs and participate in the collaboration process with the Ministère de l'Éduation regarding the status of KI programs
• Organize and participate in work groups, draft memos and conduct research on the Adult Education reform
• Collaborate in the pedagogical development plan for teachers
• Collaborate with education consultants and stakeholders from other education services groups to ensure the continuity and coherence of all of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq programs
• Participate in the development and implementation of reference frameworks for programs and evaluation purposes
• Coordinate the selection and development of appropriate educational materials and activities
• Perform any other related task requested by the immediate superior.

Qualifications

An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

Exigences

• Fluency in English and French is essential
• Experience in developing high school and adult education programs
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in English and French
• Knowledge of the MEES education reform and experience in its implementation
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a team.
• Frequent travel to Nunavik communities.

Classification / Salaire / Avantages

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $56,670 to $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
