As a lecturer in Architectural Technology, you are responsible for imparting your knowledge to students, designing course content, and evaluating learning. Among the skills and concepts taught are :

  • Architectural design and project development;
  • Technical drawing and graphic representation (2D and 3D);
  • Specialized software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign);
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) and emerging digital tools;
  • Construction systems: wood, steel, concrete and masonry;
  • Materials, building envelope and building mechanics;
  • Quebec Construction Code, Building Standards, Laws and Regulations;
  • Cost estimation, project management and site supervision;
  • Renovation, rehabilitation and survey of buildings;
  • Sustainable development, energy efficiency and sustainable building.

Status : Contract - Architectural Technology Program - 221.A0

Location: LaSalle College - Montreal Campus and/or Laval Campus

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Plan course sessions in line with the objectives of the program and the targeted skills;
  • Deliver sessions in a dynamic, efficient and structured manner;
  • Design formative and summative assessments according to the competency-based approach;
  • Correct evaluations and ensure constructive feedback from students;
  • Offer personalized follow-up to students and promote their academic success;
  • Be available to meet the educational needs of students outside of class hours;
  • Integrate artificial intelligence technologies and tools into teaching practices;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the program and departmental activities.

This role involves frequent interactions with international students and team members.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, architectural technology, building engineering, civil engineering or a related field;
  • Have two (2) years of relevant experience in the architecture, construction or building sector;
  • Proficiency in specialized software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and generative AI tools (GenAI);
  • Have taught a full course in the last five (5) years (asset); be a member of the OAQ or the OTPQ or in the process of becoming one;
  • Fluency in the French language (oral and written);
  • Proficiency in the English language at a professional level (oral and written).
