A career as a Senior Developer – Engineering and Site reliability (SRE) within the Corporate Data (EIN/ODS) team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in the operational reliability of critical data platforms. This role allows you to have a direct and tangible impact on the stability, performance, and resilience of solutions that are essential to the organization, leveraging your expertise in software engineering, service reliability, and automation.

Your role

  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical data platforms throughout their lifecycle, while taking operational and security requirements into account.
  • Apply service reliability principles, including the definition and monitoring of service level indicators and objectives, as well as the continuous improvement of operational practices.
  • Implement and maintain robust observability practices to detect, analyze, and prevent incidents using specialized tools.
  • Contribute to the management of major incidents, including coordination, root cause analysis, and the completion of post‑incident reviews focused on learning and improvement.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery exercises and operational simulations to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate closely with development, security, and platform teams to embed reliability into solution design and automate recurring, value‑added activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or possess equivalent relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Have between two and five years of experience in service reliability, critical platform operations, or within a DevOps or DevSecOps environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with observability and system monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or equivalent solutions.
  • Have a strong understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS, as well as data processing pipelines or orchestration tools, which are considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly analyze complex situations, resolve incidents in a structured manner, and remain effective in high‑pressure contexts.
  • Show autonomy, curiosity, and ease in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an operational environment.
