What profiles are we recruiting and for whom?

We are hiring a Python Developer to support our client Pratt & Whitney. This strategic role focuses on developing software tools and automation to improve engineering workflows across multiple disciplines (aerodynamics, structures, dynamics, performance).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements and understand simulation workflows.
  • Develop and maintain software tools (primarily in Python) to automate engineering tasks.
  • Run simulations on high-performance computing platforms and manage results.
  • Implement DevOps pipelines and version control systems (Git, SVN).
  • Analyze simulation data and apply optimization or machine learning techniques.
  • Ensure seamless integration of tools into engineering workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6–10 years or Master’s degree with 3–6 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with C or Fortran is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python testing frameworks (pytest).
  • Experience in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency with Git or SVN version control systems.
  • Experience with CI / CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Practical knowledge of multi-disciplinary analysis and simulation workflows.

Preferred Skills & Assets

  • Experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaaS).
  • Background in machine learning and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with turbomachinery or aerospace system design.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving ability with a balance of coding and engineering insight.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to provide technical leadership in tool and software development.
