LAVO, a division of KIK Household Products, is a North American company with over 4,000 employees across our various sites.

In Quebec, we have 2 plants: LAVO's main plant and head office in Montreal East, and Qualipak, a bottle-blowing plant in Laval. Here, we develop, manufacture and distribute products well known to Quebecers, such as La Parisienne, Hertel, Arctic Power, Spring Time, Comet and Old Dutch, not to mention numerous collaborations and production of private labels for our Canadian retailers. LAVO is also a motivated R&D, marketing, sales, human resources, finance and operations team of professionals with a passion for their field.

For our LAVO division in Montreal, we are looking for a:

Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager, the incumbent will manage plant operations on a shift basis. He/She will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a team of approximately 25 unionized employees.

The Production Supervisor takes the necessary measures to ensure the efficient use of manpower and equipment. He/She acts to achieve objectives related to operational efficiency, product quality, occupational health and safety, and the management of our human resources.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and safe working practices at all times;
• Ensure constant compliance of workplaces and safety of tools;
• Develop and maintain a preventive attitude among team members;
• Ensure that his team performs quality work in line with company standards;
• Ensure proper material and human planning to achieve production objectives;
• Mobilize your team to achieve productivity targets;
• Distribute tasks equitably among team members, taking into account individual capabilities and equipment capacities;
• Manage the performance of work teams using key performance indicators and implement actions to achieve production targets;
• Respect the production plan, communicate standard times and analyze deviations;
• Ensure that work procedures are followed and that team members perform to a high standard;
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement improved processes;
• Participate in the implementation of the continuous improvement program and the identification of improvement opportunities;
• Participate in various HR processes (staffing, performance appraisals, disciplinary processes, labor relations, training, etc.);
• Manage team members' attendance at work;
• Contribute to the development of team members;

Qualifications / Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, Diploma of College Studies or equivalent;
• Training in quality or continuous improvement (asset);
• 5 years' experience as a supervisor in a unionized manufacturing environment;
• Know how to use Office Suite software;
• Fluency in French (oral and written);
• Customer-oriented;
• Rigorous, persevering and disciplined, results-oriented;
• Team player, team builder, good interpersonal skills to create a climate of trust.
