About the Role

We are looking for an empathetic, reliable, and proactive individual who enjoys helping others and simplifying daily work through initiative and strong organizational skills.

The IT Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our technology environment, working primarily under the guidance of the CTO. In addition, the role includes office management responsibilities, where the person will collaborate directly with the HR Director to ensure smooth office operations.

This is an on-site position in Montreal, with the possibility of variable work-from-home flexibility based on needs.

Key Responsibilities

IT Responsibilities :

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to employees (Windows, Linux, Mac, peripherals, SaaS tools).
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations and equipment (PCs, laptops, phones, audiovisual equipment, security devices).
  • Manage user accounts, access, and licenses (Google Workspace, SSO, internal tools).
  • Oversee and maintain the internal network (Wi-Fi, routers, access control).
  • Ensure system security (updates, antivirus, patches, monitoring).
  • Document IT procedures and train employees as needed.
  • Manage technical onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Handle IT inventory and necessary purchases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and infrastructure.

Office Management Responsibilities :

  • Support the smooth daily operations of the office and contribute to employee well-being.
  • Collaborate directly with the HR Director to coordinate office-related activities and initiatives.
  • Assist with internal events, supplies management, and welcoming guests.
  • Act as a reliable and proactive go-to person, dedicated to making everyone’s work easier.

Required Qualifications :

  • Diploma, degree, or equivalent in Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support or system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AWS a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
  • High reliability, autonomy, and initiative to anticipate needs.
  • Strong service orientation, with the desire to help others and simplify their daily work.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Experience in a startup or fast-growing tech company.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Jira, Hubspot, etc.).
