Summary of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting, the Junior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for developing and / or conducting financial analyses of aviation programs and the operating costs of the Longueuil plant, as well as participating in the company’s budgeting and forecasting exercises. The Junior Financial Analyst is also responsible for certain accounting activities during the month-end process.

This role will allow the candidate to develop skills in financial accounting and business management within a manufacturing environment. The candidate will gain knowledge of the supply chain, production operations, and aviation programs, in order to assess their accounting impact and their effect on the plant’s profitability.

The position is designed as a development platform leading toward a Financial Analyst and, eventually, a Senior Analyst role.

Main responsibilities

• Perform monthly analysis of various aviation programs and factory operating costs.
• Prepare and regularly update the costed bill of materials (CBOM) for different items.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction, and provide related recommendations.
• Participate in the month-end process, including journal entries, preparation of financial statements, and related analysis and commentary.
• Contribute to the development of the division's budgets and financial forecasts.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders involved in the programs and factory operations (program management, operations, procurement, etc.).
• Produce monthly KPIs and take part in performance review meetings.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration
• Member of the CPA professional order, or in the process of obtaining the designation, is an asset
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Demonstrates initiative and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Bilingual
• In this role, we require knowledge of English due to the communications needed with our various suppliers, clients, auditors, and other subsidiaries of the organization that are international.

Sommaire du poste

Sous la responsabilité du Directeur de l’information financière, l’analyste financier junior a pour mandat principal d’élaborer et / ou de prendre en charge des analyses financières des programmes d’aviation et des coûts opératoires de l’usine de Longueuil ainsi que de participer aux exercices prévisionnels et budgétaires de l’entreprise. L’analyste financier junior a aussi pour mandat la prise en charge d’activités comptables lors de la fin de mois.

Ce rôle permettra au (à la) candidat(e) de développer des compétences en finance comptable et de gestion d’entreprise manufacturière. Le (la) candidat(e) développera entre autres ses connaissances sur la chaîne d’approvisionnement, les opérations de production, ainsi que les programmes d’aviation afin d’évaluer leur impact comptable ainsi que sur la profitabilité de l’usine. Le rôle est conçu comme tremplin de développement vers un poste d’analyste et futur analyste sénior.

Principales responsabilités

• Exécution d’analyses mensuelles des différents programmes d’aviation et des coûts d’opérations de l’usine;
• Production et mise à jour régulière des coûts de la nomenclature des articles « Costed Bill of Material »;
• Identifier des opportunités d’efficacité et de réduction de coût et faire des recommandations en lien avec celles-ci;
• Participer au processus de fin de mois, notamment aux écritures de journal, à la préparation des états financiers ainsi qu’aux analyses et commentaires;
• Participer à l’élaboration des budgets et des prévisions financières de la division;
• Développer et maintenir des relations avec les parties prenantes des programmes et de l’usine (gestion de programme, opérations, approvisionnement, etc.);
• Production de KPIs mensuels et participation aux rencontres de suivis;

Profil recherché

• Diplôme d’études universitaires en administration des affaires;
• Membre de l’ordre professionnel CPA, ou en voie d’obtention est un atout;
• Expérience minimale de 1 à 3 ans dans un poste similaire;
• Fait preuve d’initiative et d’excellentes aptitudes de communication;
• Capacité à travailler efficacement de façon autonome ou en équipe;
• Talent évident pour la gestion de son temps et l’établissement des priorités;
• Connaissances intermédiaires à avancées en Excel;
• Bilingue.
