For the Voith Hydro team in North America, we are currently seeking talented individuals for the position of Technologue mécanique, Conception et dessin / Designer in Brossard, Québec.

Type of position : Permanent, Full-time, On-site

Summary :

As an active member of the engineering team, your role will be to support the design of turbines according to Voith Hydro standards and procedures, and to prepare certain engineering documents.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and prepare engineering models and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, quotes, and other data;
• Define functional dimensioning and geometric tolerancing of components;
• Keep all project drawings up to date based on design changes;
• Produce material lists (BOM) in the SAP manufacturing system;
• Create As-Built drawings from documentation reflecting modifications during manufacturing and installation;
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and installation of equipment;
• Verify drawings for compliance with customer specifications and design data;
• Participate in mechanical design of turbine-generator sets for hydroelectric projects;
• Coordinate with international Voith sites on standards and drawing methods;
• Participate in design reviews;
• Contribute to the development of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

Skills and qualifications required :

• Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written;
• Experience with SolidEdge is an asset;
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines;
• Attention to detail and initiative.

Education and Experience :

• Diploma in mechanical engineering technology (DEC) or industrial design (DEP);
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably related to hydroelectric power production.
