1-Year Contract (Maternity Leave Replacement)

Montreal-based role with full-time remote work flexibility, requiring occasional presence at our downtown office as needed.

Note : 5 days – however, presence to the office at René-Lévesque Boulevard may be required/preferred occasionally (e.g. equipment retrieval/return at the beginning/end of the contract, computer failure requiring on-site IT assistance, team gatherings).

You will work closely with a team of experienced linguists and collaborate with colleagues across the company to ensure our communications—whether client-facing, technical, or operational—are clear, consistent, and aligned with our brand. If you have experience in the P&C insurance industry, and are detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about language, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Translate a wide range of documents related to property and casualty (P&C) insurance, including technical manuals, training materials, guidelines, job aids, newsletters, software interfaces, and more.
  • Act as a linguistic resource, offering guidance and support to internal clients and fellow translators on a variety of topics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure translations are accurate, clear, and aligned with business needs.
  • Maintain and update translation memories and terminology databases.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our linguistic tools and processes.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Linguistic Services project manager.

MUST HAVE

  • Full fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in French and English is essential, as this role involves regular communication—both written and verbal—with colleagues, partners, and clients across the company.
  • At least 5 years of professional translation experience, including in a corporate environment.
  • Solid knowledge of the general (P&C) insurance or financial services industry (strong asset).
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office suite, and experience working with a range of formats (including .xliff), AI, and learning platforms (Elucidat, Articulate), along with a strong motivation to continuously improve and expand skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
