The Coordinator of Student Programming plays a key role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging student life experience. This position is responsible for organizing and supporting a wide range of co-curricular programs and activities, including student clubs, events, leadership initiatives, and athletics-related logistics. While not responsible for athletic league oversight, the Coordinator serves as the high school’s internal liaison for tournaments and athletic events, working collaboratively with coaches, staff, and external league coordinators. The coordinator reports to the principal and is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Student Programming & Engagement : Plan, organize, and promote school-wide student events, assemblies, and co-curricular programs.
  • Support the development and supervision of student clubs, councils, and leadership initiatives, including the student newspaper.
  • Facilitate student involvement in school spirit and culture-building activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for guest speakers, workshops, and special events, including organizing Shabbatonim, Sukkot trips, Chanukah, and Purim events.
  • Act as the school liaison for regional tournaments, coordinating schedules and communication with external league organizers, and handling logistics for out-of-town tournaments.
  • Support logistics for team sports, including transportation, supervision, uniforms, and facility bookings.
  • Collaborate with coaches to enhance the student-athlete experience through spirit events and team-building.
  • Organize school-hosted tournaments or athletic events in coordination with staff.
  • Cultivate leadership, team building, and respectful communication among students, ensuring activities align with the school’s values.

Administrative & Communication Duties :

  • Maintain calendars, budgets, and inventory for student programs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents about upcoming events.
  • Gather feedback to improve programming continually.
  • Ensure activities are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with the school’s mission and values.
  • Qualifications :

  • Relevant post-secondary diploma in education, recreation, youth development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience organizing student or youth programs, preferably in a school or camp setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth and fostering a positive school climate.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events.
  • Preferred Assets :

  • Experience supporting athletics, student councils, or leadership programs.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Familiarity with Jewish values and cultural programming.
