HR Operations Coordinator – Background Screening

What is in it for you:•Hourly salary of $25.
• 5-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
• Full-time position: hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
• Hybrid work, with 3 days per week in the office.
• 2-3 weeks of onboarding and training on Workday, HireRight, compliance requirements, and internal processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end background screening process for global candidates.
• Coordinate background screening activities with candidates and third-party vendors.
• Review and assess screening results, identify discrepancies, and provide adjudication support.
• Ensure compliance with applicable background screening regulations, internal policies, and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain accurate, secure, confidential, and up-to-date records related to background screening activities.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external background screening providers and support issue resolution and service quality management.
• Support audits, investigations, and reporting activities by providing documentation and information as required.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices related to background screening.
• Collaborate with HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and other HR teams to support onboarding and compliance processes.
• Contribute to operational initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
• Provide support to the broader HR Operations team as business needs evolve.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Experience in background screening, HR operations, onboarding, or compliance-focused HR functions.
• Strong knowledge of compliance requirements and employment regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with Workday and HireRight is considered an asset.
• Exposure to global HR operations or multinational environments is considered an asset.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or investigations is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual to support candidates, vendors, and internal stakeholders in both languages across multiple regions and HR operations.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
