What is the opportunity?

The Personal and Commercial Banking arms of RBC continue to deliver the best in-class customer experience by equipping our advisors with the very latest technology and processes in the industry. We have partnered with Salesforce to build out our next generation CRM Advisor Platform, the cornerstone of this critical transformational program. Together, we’re aiming to take a giant leap towards our goal of becoming a digitally enabled relationship bank.

Of course, the journey would not be possible without world class talent. We’re searching for a Scrum Master to lead one of our Agile squads in the CRM & Advisor Technologies group. You’ll be joining a diverse and inclusive agile lab delivering solutions on Salesforce’s Financial Services Cloud and Lightning platform part of an Agile Program. Here within the lab, we’re employing the latest in technology and Scaled Agile practices to help bring to life the CRM Advisor Platform of the future, here at RBC.

What will you do?

  • Promote and drive adoption of Agile Methodologies and Agile Mindset (Drive Business Value, Deliver in Iterations, Collaboration)
  • Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges
  • Navigate and identify shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives. Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues. Facilitate and engage in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence
  • Work in a Scaled Agile Program and collaborate with other scrum masters and squads to work collectively and deliver capabilities on the next generation CRM Advisor Platform
  • Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. Report team progress and accomplishment up and across. Facilitate status updates (including project financials and running concurrent Agile projects in a fast-paced work environment), product demos and retrospectives

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master – where Scrum principles, practices and theory were diligently applied
  • Certified Scrum Master/Agile Practitioner
  • Ability to listen, communicate clearly, concisely with confidence and demonstrate ability to influence others
  • Ability to coach teams and individuals in regards to their Agile practices and the ability to advise groups of people how to best organize themselves in order to achieve a goal
  • Project/Program delivery in Agile environment (medium-to-large scale initiatives) using influence to facilitate outcomes
  • Ability to apply well documented Agile techniques (User Stories, Burndown techniques, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous testing, etc.); SAFe and/or Scaled Agile experience is an asset
  • Able to effectively prioritize own workload and focus across many streams of work

Nice-to-have

  • Strong IT delivery background, preferably in development or systems analysis
  • Experience and/or knowledge with Test Automation tools and approaches
  • Salesforce certifications
  • Banking experience
