Rédacteur technique
Join our Global Technology Operations Team! We are looking for a motivated technical writer in the areas of Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto. The candidate will be responsible for producing technical documents and manuals for our clients as well as for internal projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the development process by creating and maintaining technical documents including: user manuals, process documentation, training material, etc.
- Document using existing templates and/or develop new templates when required
- Work with development teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
- Produce high-quality deliverables by:
- Translating technical information into clear and concise documents for technical and non-technical users,
- Ensuring consistency in and across all types of documentation,
- Formatting, editing, and verifying new and existing documents,
- Improving editorial and visual standards for documents, and recommending new designs, layouts, and procedures as needed.
- Recommend improvements in the validation process, including document templates and communication with the technical team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining IT technical documentation for use by non-technical audiences
- 3+ years or equivalent working in an IT technical environment
- Ability to work well with a team of application developers including the ability to take content provided by the technical team and build customer-ready documents around the content.
- Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for technical and non-technical audiences, and be skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
- Ability to document technical software systems, including API specifications
- Ability to help test software systems
- Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, have excellent grammar skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with Adobe suite, Visio and other graphics or publishing tools a plus.
- ITIL certification an asset.
- Bilingual English/French an asset
