Senior Analyst, Network Infrastructure
At Allied, everything starts with purpose. As a Senior Analyst, Network Infrastructure, you will support the planning, integration and management of our network systems and firewalls across Canada, enabling our portfolio to be future‑ready and ensuring all team members can connect.
Network Infrastructure at Allied
Network Infrastructure is part of the IT Operations team, focused on network systems. Our core principle is to design and build IP networks that support building automation and ESG goals, creating value‑added services for our users.
Currently, we strive to establish a single, secure and converged network for our entire portfolio. You will explore emerging technologies, invigorate existing systems, and design future‑ready infrastructure, serving as the frontline for smarter networks across our portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Adept at gaining access, designing and mapping networks.
- Assess and predict site requirements for network installations, including power, cabinets, internet circuits, physical security and cabling.
- Perform Wi‑Fi Spectrum analysis to plan and assess wireless coverage.
- Cable tracing: use of cable toner, fiber pens to identify cable runs and connectivity.
- Document IT infrastructure and identify key information such as Pops, MDFs, IDFs, Wi‑Fi antennas, circuit numbers, riser rooms and conduits.
- Create logical maps of how and where IT equipment connects using software like MS Visio.
- Manage day‑to‑day operation and monitoring of the network.
- Proactively test networks to ensure operational standards.
- Install and configure network hardware, such as firewalls, routers, switches, access points and UPSs.
- Collaborate with users, vendors and contractors to add and improve network functionality while maintaining security standards.
- Plan and implement improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components.
- Maintain high user satisfaction, communicate and guide end‑users to resolve networking issues.
- Handle incoming network‑related service tickets and related projects.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CND (Certified Network Defender) and/or equivalent experience.
- Core knowledge of networking protocols, network communications and the OSI model.
- Core understanding of firewall technologies, VPN (DMVPN, Client/Clientless VPN, and tunneling).
- Experience with Cisco IOS, ArubaOS and/or Palo Alto.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to travel and lift networking equipment.
- Research new technologies and provide demonstrations and presentations.
- Keep up to date on industry trends, certifications and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups at varying technical levels.
- Bilingual (French and English).
Preferred Skills
- Experience scripting IT automation (Python, Nornir, Ansible).
- Experience with building automation systems.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with network management and monitoring systems (Zabbix, Netbox, Nethook, etc).
- Experience with Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet or whiteboxes.
- Experience with Network Authentication Controls.
- Experience with packet capture tools and discovery fundamentals.
- Experience with architectural or electrical drawings.
