Job Summary

The Manager – Production is responsible for overseeing the assigned shift or department to ensure the achievement of established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. The role drives high‑performance teams, leads change and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with cross‑functional partners to execute strategies that deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce safety and compliance policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Evaluate current and future needs using data, floor observations, and stakeholder input.
• Develop strategic plans with leadership to meet safety, quality, production, and people management metrics.
• Formulate and enforce departmental procedures and objectives.
• Lead financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
• Ensure consistency of practices, policies, and procedures within the assigned area.
• Monitor production and quality progress via reports and floor inspections.
• Adjust production and quality plans as needed to meet labor efficiency and goal targets.
• Manage people functions including hiring, training, performance appraisal, reward, discipline, and conflict resolution.
• Communicate performance goals and policies to the production team and update progress regularly.
• Ensure adequate skill distribution to meet production and quality goals and foster employee growth.
• Build and develop direct reports, supporting talent development through performance management and succession planning.
• Create a positive work environment that demonstrates the company’s values.
• Prepare and analyze performance reports.
• Lead and participate in project teams and business meetings.
• Partner with other Production Managers and departments such as engineering and maintenance to drive continuous improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least 5 years of experience leading others.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
• Experience in a very high‑volume environment with complex technical processes.
• Proven track record of individual accomplishment and team‑based success.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
