Job Description
We are seeking an individual with experience in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in research. They will implement the EDI plan for multicentre research studies and research teams involving all pediatric hospitals across Canada (POPCORN). They will also support other ongoing trials and studies related to child health equity.
Position Summary
Implement EDI plan, support child health equity research initiatives, work with diverse stakeholders, design research protocols, manage ethics board approvals, assist with protocol writing and manuscripts, oversee volunteers and trainees, conduct literature reviews, analyse data, and facilitate knowledge translation activities.
General Duties
- Assist in the planning and delivery of EDI and community of practice activities
- Assist in writing study protocols and manuscripts
- Manage procedures with the Research Ethics Board and Contracts Office (protocol approvals, amendments, and annual renewals)
- Collaborate with national research team
- Engage with diverse stakeholders
- Design mixed-methods and community-based participatory research protocols
- Administer questionnaires
- Collect qualitative and quantitative data
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data
- Conduct literature reviews (including systematic reviews and meta-analysis)
- Help oversee volunteers and trainees
- Assist in knowledge translation activities
Education & Experience
Education : Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or another health-related area.
Field of Study : Public Health, Epidemiology, or another health-related area.
Work Experience : 2 years of experience in health research.
Additional consideration : Other field of study or prior experience as an asset.
Required Skills
- Previous work experience in clinical research is essential
- Previous experience in mixed-methods (quantitative and qualitative) research
- Previous experience in community-based participatory action and co-design research methods
- Previous experience in quality improvement methods is an asset
- Strong communication skills in both French and English (spoken and written) are essential
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to multitask
- Previous experience with RI‑MUHC is an asset
- Previous experience working with multicultural communities is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and qualitative software (Word, Excel, NVivo)
Additional Information
- Status : Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
- Pay Scale : $49,722.40 – $92,346.80 commensurate with education and experience
- Work Shift : Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Work Site : 5252 boul. de Maisonneuve
