Overview

Creature TDs (CFX) at DNEG are integral to the development of animation and simulation rigs for creatures, digital doubles, vehicles, props and subsequent simulations. You will find technical and creative solutions to develop high‑quality rigs and simulations according to the needs of the production.

Position at DNEG. Les Creature TD (CFX) chez DNEG jouent un rôle essentiel dans le développement des rigs d’animation et de simulation pour les créatures, doublures numériques, véhicules et accessoires, ainsi que dans les simulations associées. Vous trouverez des solutions techniques et créatives afin de concevoir des rigs et des simulations de haute qualité, selon les besoins de la production.

Must Have

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in feature films
  • Thorough knowledge of an area of creature specialization and a broad understanding of the other areas, which include rigging and enveloping in Maya, cloth, hair, flesh and crowd simulations
  • Full working knowledge of Maya
  • Be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work where appropriate
  • Have strong visual and artistic skills
  • Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature-heavy post‑production environment

Nice to Have

  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python, Mel), depending on the area of specialization
  • An interest in anatomy, tailoring, grooming or mechanics depending on your area of specialization
  • Houdini Creature FX set‑ups and simulation
  • A good General TD background
  • Strong understanding of Linux / Unix based operating systems

  • Organized, proactive and a self‑starter
  • A team player and clear communicator, with a keenness for collaboration
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new skills and techniques – including proprietary software
  • Calm under pressure and committed to meeting production deadlines
  • A positive, can‑do attitude

Compétences essentielles (French)

  • Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience dans le domaine du long métrage
  • Solide connaissance dans un domaine de spécialisation lié aux créatures, et compréhension générale des autres domaines, incluant le rigging et l’enveloppe sous Maya, ainsi que les simulations de tissus, de poils, de chair et de foules
  • Maîtrise complète de Maya
  • À l’aise avec les aspects techniques du travail sur les créatures, lorsque requis
  • Bonnes compétences visuelles et artistiques
  • Familiarité avec les pipelines de production et les environnements de post‑production à forte composante « creature work »

Atouts (French)
