GENERAL FUNCTION
The Manager‑Production is responsible for overseeing the assigned shift or department to ensure the achievement of the established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. The Manager‑Production develops high‑performing teams, leads change and continuous improvement, drives results, builds a best‑in‑class working environment and executes strategies to achieve expected results. Builds collaborative relationships within and across departments and corporate support. Leads Production Supervisors, who are responsible for achieving daily results, and may lead other employees. The scope of the role may vary based on volume, service types, number of employees and equipment and tools.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enforces safety and compliance policies and procedures for a safe and compliant work environment.
- Evaluates current and future needs by leveraging reports, data, floor observations and discussions with others.
- Develops strategic plans, in partnership with the leader, to meet safety, quality, production, and people management metrics and standards.
- Formulates and enforces departmental procedures and objectives.
- Leads financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
- Ensures consistency of practices, policies, and procedures within the assigned area.
- Monitors production and quality progress by reviewing reports, observing the production floor, managing performance and inspecting production and quality progress.
- Adjusts production and quality plans, as needed, to ensure labor efficiency and production and quality goals are met.
- Conducts people management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems for direct and needed indirect reports.
- Communicates performance goals and expectations and continuously updates the production team on performance and policies / procedures.
- Ensures adequate distribution of skills to meet production and quality goals, including developing employees for continuous growth.
- Builds and develops direct reports to ensure capabilities for executing operational strategies; includes talent development practices (performance management and succession planning).
- Fosters a positive work environment (teamwork, fairness, engagement) and ensures employees demonstrate the company’s values.
- Facilitates preparation and analysis of reports.
- Leads and participates on project teams.
- Participates and leads business meetings.
- Partners with other Production Managers and other departments (engineering and maintenance) to achieve expected results and continuous improvements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience leading others.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Demonstration of leadership skills and abilities.
- Experience in a very high‑volume environment with complex technical processes.
- Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution, and team‑based success.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
Pay Range
-125,503.00
