Job Description – Control-M Administration
Job Summary
This role supports all aspects of Control-M administration and provides technical guidance to team members. You will manage escalated incidents, perform root cause analysis, and address both reactive issues (Incident Reports) and proactive business needs.
Contract length: Open contract (12 months +), could lead to extension or internalisation
Start date: ASAP
Calendar: US calendar
Location: Montréal (Hybrid model – up to 2 days WFH / week after 3 months)
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, implement and support complex Control-M batch streams.
- Support modernization efforts using Control-M integrations and Automation API.
- Understand business requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Test and validate changes in the Control-M environment.
- Ensure high-quality release standards.
- Manage incidents and escalate to Management or third parties when needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on P1–P4 incidents.
- Collaborate with internal teams or external partners for change implementations.
- Adhere to incident, problem, and change management procedures.
- Ensure service performance meets established SLAs and quality expectations.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
Education
Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science / IT, or equivalent experience.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Control-M administration.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Control-M architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Control-M v9.20 / v9.21, including installation, configuration and DR procedures.
- Experience with multiple Control-M releases and migrations.
- Good understanding of Linux (basics).
- Expertise across Control-M components:
- Control-M Agent / AFT / Managed File Transfer
- Windows 2016 / 2019 / 2022
- UNIX – Linux (current releases)
- Control-M Automation API
- Agent parameters

- Calendar creation & updates

- Find and update commands on folders
- Experience working with BMC Level 4 support.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
- Experience with other file transfer products (CFT, Connect Direct, MQ Series, Secure Transport) is an asset.
