Job Description – Control-M Administration

Job Summary

This role supports all aspects of Control-M administration and provides technical guidance to team members. You will manage escalated incidents, perform root cause analysis, and address both reactive issues (Incident Reports) and proactive business needs.

Contract length: Open contract (12 months +), could lead to extension or internalisation

Start date: ASAP

Calendar: US calendar

Location: Montréal (Hybrid model – up to 2 days WFH / week after 3 months)

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement and support complex Control-M batch streams.
  • Support modernization efforts using Control-M integrations and Automation API.
  • Understand business requirements and design appropriate solutions.
  • Test and validate changes in the Control-M environment.
  • Ensure high-quality release standards.
  • Manage incidents and escalate to Management or third parties when needed.
  • Perform root cause analysis on P1–P4 incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams or external partners for change implementations.
  • Adhere to incident, problem, and change management procedures.
  • Ensure service performance meets established SLAs and quality expectations.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

Education

Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science / IT, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Control-M administration.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Control-M architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M v9.20 / v9.21, including installation, configuration and DR procedures.
  • Experience with multiple Control-M releases and migrations.
  • Good understanding of Linux (basics).
  • Expertise across Control-M components:
    • Control-M Agent / AFT / Managed File Transfer
    • Windows 2016 / 2019 / 2022
    • UNIX – Linux (current releases)
    • Control-M Automation API
    • Agent parameters
    • Configuration Manager
    • Calendar creation & updates
    • Folder & job creation / updates
    • Job ordering, conditions, quantitative resources
    • AFT profile components & jobs
    • Control-M security
    • Job loader
    • User daily concept
    • Forecast Server
    • Import / export between environments
    • Find and update commands on folders
  • Experience working with BMC Level 4 support.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
  • Experience with other file transfer products (CFT, Connect Direct, MQ Series, Secure Transport) is an asset.
