Job Description
WB Games Montreal, a division of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), seeks a Senior Front-End Programmer to work with its game development team responsible for a new AAA title.
Your New Role…
In this role you will write and maintain internal web tools used by Product Managers, Producers, QA, and Customer Support. You’ll develop features that allow developers to interact with hosted content, player profiles, and tweakable game systems. You’ll assist in introducing methods that allow Product Managers to configure live events, target user segments, and deliver live content changes to the community at large. You’ll support QA to identify and track user behavior and resolve issues by developing easy to use site features.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Design, author, maintain and refactor internal sites that meet all design, technical and schedule requirements
- Work closely with QA and your technical leadership to ensure the stability and accuracy of our online tools by identifying, communicating and resolving defects
- Author, review and provide feedback on technical and end-user documentation of online tools
- Collaborate with technical leadership and other programmers to help establish overall technical design and architecture
- Collaborate with designers and content creators to brainstorm solutions that satisfy design and content requirements
- Work closely with the production staff in building and maintaining realistic schedules and identifying dependencies
- Coordinate with QA and Leads to ensure successful roll out of new features to the team and establish testing and maintenance of online systems
Qualifications & Experience…
- 5+ years of professional web development experience.
- Thorough knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts, basic understanding of common design patterns, and familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Perforce.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Node.js, React, Vue.js, and Express.
- Strong knowledge with front-end coding in CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
- Exposure to backend systems such as AWS, Kubernetes, MongoDB, and SQL is considered a desired asset.
- Good grasp of online services, including A/B testing and content management systems (CMS).
- Experience with Unreal engine 4 or 5, or any other game engine, is a plus.
- Familiarity with post-launch live operations and support would be preferred.
- Passion for problem-solving, learning new technologies, and building tools contributing to high-quality AAA game development.
- Strong debugging skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
