We are looking for a Scrum Master for a 4 months contract with the intention to convert to full time permanent. Role is hybrid with 4 days a week on site in Downtown Montreal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all core Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Act as a coach and mentor to Agile teams, guiding them on Scrum principles and best practices to improve delivery effectiveness.
- Work closely with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, well-prioritized product backlog.
- Identify and eliminate blockers to ensure smooth and efficient delivery cycles.
- Monitor and enhance team performance using Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms to maintain transparency.
- Champion a mindset of continuous improvement and team accountability.
- Collaborate with fellow Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to elevate Agile maturity across teams and departments.
- Ensure all delivery practices adhere to internal governance, risk, and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator role.
- Proven background in Agile environments — ideally within financial services, banking, or regulated industries.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or similar Agile certification required.
- Proficient in Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
- Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional, distributed teams.
- Familiarity with banking operations, digital transformation, or regulatory projects is highly advantageous.
