What does this role involve?

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager oversees the entire manufacturing process to ensure smooth operations across production, finishing and crating. This position requires coordination with multiple departments to optimize workflow, manage production schedules and uphold high safety and quality standards. You will drive efficiency, consistency and compliance while meeting operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and optimize the entire manufacturing process to drive efficiency and quality.
• Develop leadership skills and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and process improvements to optimize operations.
• Lead high-visibility projects and contribute to the plant’s strategic objectives.

What you’ll do

Operational Leadership

• Manage daily plant operations, ensure production schedules and customer expectations are met.
• Assign workers and support staff based on production demands and equipment availability.
• Monitor workforce performance, conduct regular reviews and implement ongoing training programs.
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Technical Services Manager to ensure seamless operations.
• Drive process-improvement initiatives across all stages of production.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and proactively manage risks.
• Embed safety systems into workflows and maintain high safety standards.
• Lead incident investigations using structured tools such as 5-Why analysis.

Quality & Efficiency Management

• Work with the Quality Manager to maintain high production standards.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Make strategic decisions on overtime, staffing and resource allocation.

Employee Development & Engagement

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team including Production Supervisors, Team Leads and CNC Programmers.
• Foster a culture of positive employee relations, accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 5+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Bilingual French and English proficiency required; English skills needed for US-based HR evaluation and applications submitted in English.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma, continuous improvement and production processes.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience leading multi-shift, high-speed production teams; track record of cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Expertise in continuous improvement, KPI monitoring and team performance optimization.

Education and experience

• Technical CEGEP Diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
• 5-7 years’ leadership experience in manufacturing; supervisory experience required.
• Experience with Lean methodologies.
