Overview

Lead Software Engineer position at Prelib, a digital health platform specializing in STI testing, with clinics in Montreal, Quebec City, and Sherbrooke. We make access to sexual health services simple: online booking, discreet testing, and online results. Our platform is designed to be confidential, convenient, and modern.

We’re looking for a Lead Software Developer to oversee the development team’s work and ensure alignment between product vision and technology vision. You’ll be responsible for developing our platform and its services, from design to testing, deployment, and stability monitoring.

Responsibilities and skills

• Define the technology vision and roadmap in line with business goals
• Plan and lead software projects from design to production
• Communicate technical topics clearly with other teams and ensure transparency
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer support to align initiatives
• Use data (SQL, BI, product metrics) to guide decisions
• Ensure compliance and security (PIPEDA)

Technical skills

• SaaS expertise: building and scaling robust, reliable platforms
• Languages: Backend in Go and TypeScript / Frontend in React with server-side rendering in Go, Tailwind, Templ, and HTMX
• Cloud: AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda), Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
• DevOps: CI / CD, Terraform, GitOps (FluxCD, ArgoCD or similar), monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch)
• Security: encryption, access management (IAM, RBAC), OWASP standards
• Quality: automated testing, reliable pipelines, performance tracking
• Databases & caching: Postgres and Redis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• 3+ years in a leadership role within a software development team
• Prior experience in health tech or SaaS healthcare platforms is a strong asset
