Overview
Join our innovative team at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) in Montreal. The institute is a biomedical and hospital research centre, affiliated with McGill University. We are seeking a Research Associate to contribute to molecular and translational oncology projects in the Lebrun Cancer Research Laboratory. This is a temporary, full-time position focused on scientific discovery and patient-centered medicine.
Position Summary
A full-time opportunity to lead research projects, contribute to publications and grants, and collaborate with a top-tier team at the forefront of cancer science.
General Duties
- Lead and actively participate in groundbreaking research projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and grant applications.
- Analyze complex research data, prepare detailed reports, and author manuscripts.
- Represent the lab at internal meetings, and present findings at conferences and seminars.
- Support and mentor lab members, including training new recruits.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory practices and safety.
- Regularly report progress to the Principal Investigator.
Education / Experience
Education : Doctorate Degree
Field of Study : Life Sciences
- 2 years of post-doctoral experience
- Previous experience as a Research Associate is advantageous but not mandatory.
Required Skills
- Expertise in Molecular and Translational Oncology.
- Hands-on experience with CRISPR screening (in vitro / in vivo).
- Proficiency in large dataset analysis and bioinformatics tools.
- Knowledge of single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
- Familiarity with drug screening techniques.
- Strong command of molecular biology techniques (cloning, gene editing, PCR, Western blot, lentivirus transfection, etc.).
Desirable But Not Required
- Experience working with small animals.
- Basic histology skills.
- Proficiency in cell biology methods, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and cell imaging.
Additional Requirements
At least two reference letters from previous supervisors.
Position Details
Status : Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale : $55,692.00 - $103,412.40. Commensurate with education & work experience
Work Shift : Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Work Site : GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
