Your new role
Reporting to the Manager, Operations Integration, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the operational technology phase for our Windfall Project, currently in the pre-construction stage. The objective is to ensure the deployment of various mining and processing technologies prior to the operational phase.
You will be expected to develop:
- An Operational Technology Plan covering all necessary aspects to ensure the successful operation of the site;
- A vendor mapping related to mining and processing technologies (automation, control room, proximity detection, integrated communications, systems, etc.);
- Communication and technology integration plans across the different phases;
- Operational strategies for mining, processing, and waste disposal that are both efficient and aligned with our stakeholder commitments;
- A system architecture that enables the integration of technological solutions.
This role will require interaction with numerous stakeholders to define integrated operational strategies for the project. As such, you will be expected to:
- Develop a dedicated Operational Technology team, responsible for implementing the functional plans that support the transition from project execution to operations;
- Work with international experts to adopt best practices used within Gold Fields;
- Collaborate with the global Asset Optimization team to ensure the adoption of best practices in continuous improvement;
- Work with OEMs and vendors to integrate operational technologies into the mining site;
- Participate, alongside the commissioning team, in defining the startup approach to meet the project’s objectives.
What you need to succeed
- Over 10 years of experience in mining operations and project management;
- Significant experience in the implementation of mining operational technologies;
- University degree in a relevant field (training in project management is a strong asset);
- Registered member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Bilingual (able to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in both French and English);
- Project management skills, including scope definition, budget development, and scheduling;
- Proven leadership to continuously motivate, guide, and align diverse teams;
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with various functions and relevant areas;
- Solid understanding of technologies and integration of IT systems.
