Embedded Software Developer
Location : Montreal, QC (Hybrid, 4 days on-site)
Type : Full-time
Salary : $90,000–$115,000
Auxo is hiring on behalf of a Montréal-based startup that’s redefining low-power wireless communication. Their tech enables real-time connectivity for smart devices — from wearables to industrial sensors.
They’re looking for an Embedded Software Developer who enjoys working close to the hardware, writing lean code, and being part of a team that ships real products. This is your chance to build at the system level and contribute across the full product lifecycle in a fast-moving, well-funded environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and debugging embedded firmware (C / C++) for ultra-low power systems
- Collaborating on protocol design, system integration, and power optimization
- Writing functional tools or simple GUIs to interact with the device
- Supporting hardware bring-up and firmware validation
- Working with cross-functional teams to ship hardware / software products
What you bring
- 3–7 years of embedded development (C / C++ on MCUs or embedded Linux)
- Solid knowledge of low-level systems, communication protocols, and debugging tools
- Experience with hardware interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C, GPIO)
- Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and serial debuggers
- Practical mindset — you like building systems that work in the real world
Nice-to-haves
- Wireless experience (Bluetooth, Zigbee, UWB, etc.)
- Scripting or tooling (Python, Bash, MATLAB)
- Exposure to RTOS or bare-metal environments
- Familiarity with PCB-level or RF testing
Why this startup?
- Cutting-edge work on custom wireless products
- Flat structure with direct impact — your code ships fast
- Equity, full benefits, and flexible time off
- Growing team, real momentum, and full visibility across the product
