MaxSys Staffing & Consulting is seeking a qualified Francophone Editor to join a high-impact research environment. If you're detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in handling French-language editorial work - this contract role may be a great fit.

Role Overview :

The Intermediate Editor will :

• Provide French-language copy editing for social science manuscripts, reports, articles, surveys, and multimedia content.
• Conduct quality control of AI-translated French content, ensuring accuracy, inclusivity, and alignment with technical terminology.
• Collaborate closely with researchers, translators, and subject matter experts.
• Contribute to improving in-house AI translation tools.

Requirements :

Education (Mandatory) :

Certificate, diploma, or degree in French Studies, Writing, Linguistics, Communications, Journalism, or related field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.

Experience (Mandatory) :

• Minimum 24 months of relevant experience in :
• Editing and reviewing French-language documents.
• Verifying facts, terminology, and syntax.
• Editing social science research content in both French and English.
• Advanced proficiency in French with demonstrated editorial experience across a range of content types including manuscripts, slide decks, and web content.
• Experience supporting translation and document revision processes, including AI-generated content.

Key Skills :

• Strong command of French editorial standards and terminology.
• Proficiency in inclusive language usage and scientific writing conventions.
• Familiarity with tools like Termium Plus, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint included).
• Ability to evaluate and enhance AI-assisted translation output.
