Join our Private Equity firm as a Senior Analyst in our Market & Business Intelligence function and be a catalyst for insightful investment decisions. If your expertise lies in investment research, market research, and you have a zeal for shaping key business strategies through compelling data insights, this role is for you. The person reports to the Senior Manager, Intelligence and Innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Leverage external platforms (e.g., Pitchbook, Preqin, Capital IQ, AlphaSense, DealEdge) to extract and synthesize insights. Create and maintain sector overviews, market maps, competitive landscapes, and value chain analyses to inform investment decisions.
- Produce comprehensive reports following various analyses.
- Engage in thorough Sector Analysis to unearth market trends and uncover lucrative opportunities.
- Dive deep into Equity Research focusing on comparables, prospects, and comprehensive company analysis.
- Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to forecast and strategize.
- Translate complex data insights into understandable narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities adeptly, showcasing excellent organizational and time management prowess.
- Conduct deep-dive market research and sector analysis to support investment screening, due diligence, and value creation initiatives.
- Monitor and report on macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and competitive intelligence across a broad range of sectors.
- Collaborate with deal teams to produce targeted market research reports that support live deals or strategic projects.
- Develop clear, concise, and visually compelling deliverables, including reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Always stay abreast of market trends. Be in a continuous learning perspective.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain utmost confidentiality with sensitive information.
Required skills & profile
- 3+ years of experience in market research, consulting (M&A), equity research, investment banking, or a similar analytical role.
- Proficiency with research and financial databases (e.g., PitchBook, Preqin, S&P Capital IQ, AlphaSense, Bloomberg, DealEdge, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Solid understanding of business models, industry drivers, and financial concepts.
- Conceptual understanding of financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, with experience in predictive modeling and statistical analysis, or a willingness to learn these skills.
- Familiar with regulatory frameworks and compliance in the finance sector.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and automated workflows (e.g., PowerAutomate, Alteryx) or coding skills are an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.
