The Lead Auditor / Vice President – Montreal Team Lead conducts IGE (Inspection Generale / Internal Audit) Americas audits supporting all regional activities within the Americas, with specific ownership of CACIB Canada Branch / Credit Agricole Services and Operations. In addition to supporting regional and global general audit coverage, the auditor performs regional IT / cybersecurity / data coverage. This includes an assessment of the audited activity, the performance of tests, analysis and controls, and the issuance of recommendations. He / she is responsible for the timeliness and comprehensiveness of the audit deliverables under the supervision of the IT Audit Supervisor in NY or another global Audit Supervisor. He / She is accountable for maintaining open communication with stakeholders, drafting the management debriefing presentation, and final report. He / she usually leads a team of several auditors and executes control sections of the audit.

Key Responsibilities :

The IT Senior Auditor may work independently or supervise junior auditors.

Conduct of assignment

  • Assess the risks of the audited activities and validate the control environment for its design and effectiveness.
  • Review and challenge processes and controls based on their purpose, mandates, and related risks, relying on documented audit work.
  • Verify compliance with internal policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Monitor fieldwork and adjust audit scope based on identified risks.
  • Communicate with IGE and stakeholders on audit progress within set timeframes.
  • Immediately notify the Audit Manager / Regional Supervisor / Head of Local Audit of major control weaknesses and follow escalation policies.
  • Manage interviews, debriefings, and discussions of audit findings with management.
  • Review and finalize responses to draft audit reports with management, preparing for the final report.
  • Ensure audit deliverables adhere to IGE Methodology as per the Audit Charter.
  • Maintain and monitor assigned Auditable Objects (AO) related to coverage areas.

Team management

  • Define objectives and assess team performance at the end of assignments.
  • Plan assignments, allocate work, and manage resources efficiently.
  • Foster collaboration within the team and coordinate with the International Network and auditees.
  • Contribute to team improvement by providing guidance and feedback to team members.
