Software Engineer (.NET / C# and AI/IoT)

As a Software Engineer (.NET / C# and AI/IoT) within the Telecommunications team, you will:

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance backend applications using C# and .NET Core/.NET;
• Maintain and enhance real-time data transmission systems and communication protocols for equipment used in Real-Time Location System (RTLS) solutions;
• Ensure the reliability, low latency, and scalability of architectures used to process spatial location data;
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary and experimental projects involving the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop and integrate new features into existing solutions;
• Build, clean, structure, and manage high-quality datasets for training artificial intelligence models;
• Participate in data labelling and annotation activities and ensure the integrity and quality of the data used;
• Use modern artificial intelligence platforms and tools to contribute to model deployment, monitoring, and improvement;
• Develop Python scripts to automate data processing workflows and facilitate the integration of artificial intelligence modules into the .NET ecosystem;
• Participate in diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to spatial data, real-time systems, and software-hardware integrations;
• Collaborate with various technical teams to ensure the quality, performance, and ongoing evolution of the solutions developed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;
• More than 3 years of professional experience in software development;
• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem for developing clean, maintainable, multithreaded backend services;
• Experience with real-time data streams, socket programming, or software-hardware integrations;
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases for high-throughput data storage and processing;
• Working knowledge of Python and tools and platforms related to artificial intelligence and data management is considered an asset;
• Knowledge of IoT technologies, including MQTT, AMQP, WebSockets, or edge computing, is considered an asset;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in an agile environment combining software development, AI, and IoT;
• Proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken, is required (to collaborate with teams located outside Quebec, as 15% of the Vice-President's team members are based outside Quebec, as well as with clients located outside Quebec, who represent 70% of the Vice-President's client base).
