What will you do?

  • Write clear, engaging plain language marketing copy, for both digital, mobile and print in both French and English

  • Make light edits to templates in Word and InDesign to create a communication for specific Sun Life members (consumers), personalized in partnership with their employer

  • Execute complex B2C-style communication campaigns, end-to-end (from content creation to deployment)

  • Create digital and print tactics to achieve campaign objectives. Examples: a booklet informing of an update to investment lineup, a flyer promoting financial literacy or an email encouraging increasing contributions every pay

  • Use Wrike (a project management tool that combines a creative brief and workback schedule) to execute your project on time, interact with stakeholders and keep track of progress

  • Collaborate with internal teams (such as Client Relationship Executives, Member Education Consultants and Implementation Project Managers) and external plan sponsors/consultants

  • Work with Graphic Designers and Member Experience Consultants to brainstormand develop innovative design concepts that reflect the desired strategy and Sun Life’s brand personality

What do you need to succeed?

  • You have experience in the financial services or group retirement services industry

  • You communicate in French first, with a strong command of English (candidates will need to complete writing assignments in both languages without the use of AI)

  • You have experience writing consumer-level marketing communications

  • You’re comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, using your proven project management skills to maintain scope, timelines and budget

  • You’re creative and would enjoy collaborating with designers, translation, external agencies and print/production companies

  • You’re comfortable in a consultative environment and open to working with multiple stakeholders across the organization, at all levels

  • You have experience influencing partners, setting expectations, and enforcing guidelines/business boundaries while maintaining relationships

  • A post-secondary education in Journalism, Marketing Communications or English

  • You come with a diverse perspective and background

  • You’re a plain language advocate

  • Experience in content creation, copywriting or editing

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, InDesign, AEM, Wrike, Microsoft Sharepoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Experience/knowledge of email coding and automation (AEM & Adobe Campaign)

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

Notes:

We will ask you to complete a writing assignment in both French and English, and ask that you not use AI to complete the task. You will have the opportunity to meet current team members during the interview process. Candidates will be asked to interview in both French and English.
