Our client, an innovative and fast-growing healthcare company is seeking a strategic and innovative Upstream Product Manager to lead the front end of product development, from identifying market opportunities through to commercial launch readiness. This role is responsible for translating customer needs and market insights into innovative product strategies, driving the development of new products and line extensions that align with business objectives.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, Procurement, and Legal, you will define product requirements, develop business cases, and guide projects through the product development process.
Responsabilités clés
- Lead opportunity assessments, market analyses, competitive intelligence, and business case development for new product opportunities.
- Define product requirements and collaborate closely with Engineering and R&D throughout the product development process.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and product classifications.
- Evaluate expiring patents, support intellectual property initiatives, and collaborate with patent counsel on innovative concepts.
- Build relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, industry partners, and suppliers to identify emerging opportunities.
- Participate in industry conferences and trade shows to monitor market trends and establish strategic partnerships.
- Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and Demand Planning to support forecasting, launch planning, and commercialization activities.
- Prepare products for launch and collaborate with the Downstream Product Manager to ensure successful market introduction.
Compétences et qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is considered an asset.
- 3–5 years of experience in Upstream Product Management, Product Development, or Strategic Product Marketing.
- Proven experience leading new product development projects from concept through successful commercialization.
- Strong background in market analysis, competitive intelligence, opportunity assessment, and Voice of Customer (VOC) research.
- Demonstrated ability to develop product roadmaps, business cases, and strategic product plans.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Procurement, Sales, and Legal.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
