PURPOSE
We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer-Level 1 who's eager to grow their craft on a team that's modernizing how we test software and solutions. You'll help build and maintain the automated tests that give our developers fast, reliable feedback, and you'll work with modern, AI-assisted tooling from day one.

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Build and maintain automated tests for web, API, and integration scenarios - primarily using Playwright.
- Convert existing manual and written test cases into reliable automated tests.
- Help run and monitor automated tests within our CI/CD pipelines so issues surface early.
- Investigate, document, and report defects clearly, then verify fixes.
- Partner with developers to understand new features and spot potential issues early (a shift-left approach).
- Help keep our test suites and test environments healthy, stable, and trustworthy.
- Use AI-assisted tools (such as GitHub Copilot or Claude) to write, accelerate, and maintain automated tests as a regular part of your workflow.
Compétences et aptitudes requises
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- 2+ years of experience in software testing & test automation.
- Good understanding of software testing concepts (test cases, test types, and the testing lifecycle).
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Familiarity with at least one automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium).
- Foundational programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
- Comfort using Git for version control as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving instincts and clear, collaborative communication.
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants or other AI tools to enable and accelerate automation across different types of testing.
Atouts
ASSETS
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, including its MCP or CLI.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) or performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
- Awareness of secure coding practices or security testing.
- Past working experience in Fintech or similar regulated organizations.
This position requires English to collaborate with development teams, technology vendors, and stakeholders located outside Quebec. The incumbent must also review technical documentation, use development and automation tools, and work with software platforms and AI technologies that operate primarily in English.
