Our technology and media sector client is seeking a Records Management Specialist (5+ years) to modernize corporate retention schedules within a federal Crown corporation environment - RQ
Join a multi-year modernization initiative supporting a major Canadian federal Crown corporation in transforming its records retention framework. This role provides expert consulting to the Records and Information Management Office (RIMO), guiding the full lifecycle from rule design through governance review and implementation planning. The position offers visibility across multiple business units and requires bilingual engagement in English and French. Candidates will contribute directly to a large-scale modernization of corporate information governance.
Contract, hybrid
Duration: 3 months
Exigences (Must Haves)
- 5+ years in records management, information governance, or archival support within public sector or enterprise environments
- Active membership in ARMA International or Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA)
- Understanding of Canadian federal legislation and Library and Archives Canada retention requirements
- Familiarity with ISO -1: standards and ARMA best practices
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as Records Management, Archival Studies, or Information Governance
Atouts (Nice to Have)
- Experience with records mandates for Canadian federal government departments or agencies
- Experience with media industry organizations
- Full professional bilingual proficiency (English/French)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs)
Responsabilités
- Draft standardized retention rules covering titles, descriptions, owners, periods, triggers, and justifications
- Design logical organization of retention rules through big bucket or cross-functional grouping approaches
- Review and recommend updates to records management policies, directives, and governance frameworks
- Conduct research on federal and provincial legislation related to retention requirements
- Draft change management plans and design cross-reference tables between old and new retention rules
- Develop training plans, materials, and explanatory guides or videos to support adoption
