The Accounting Associate Position is responsible for coordinating the administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits of funds and other general accounting functions as directed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSolid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principlesProcess AR transactions including invoicing and payment applications.Process AP transactions and process payments.Bank transactions review support.Prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities support.Assists in monthly close process.Perform other job-related duties as directed by superior.Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct customer ledger/vendor ledger and general ledgerCommunicates with clients, client suppliers, vendors and interdepartmentalContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCommunicate effectively in individual or group situations including demonstrating active listening skillsAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using accurate grammatical form and able to read and interpret written informationAbility to maintain confidentialityDemonstrates excellence in work standards; is tenacious in completing tasksAble to participate in solving problems and help make decisions based on the best information available by developing resolutions between partiesWorks well with other team members and departments in a professional and friendly manner to accomplish mutual goals and prepare assignments on timeEnsures effectiveness in processes to achieve/seek best practiceProvide feedback and suggestions for improved systems and efficienciesBilingual: French and EnglishEducation & ExperienceAccounting diploma (CEGEP level minimum).5 years accounting experience.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
