Our client, a leading organization in the industrial sector, is seeking a Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II to join their team. As an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II, you will be part of the dedicated EHS department supporting the implementation and management of safety programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and a commitment to safety excellence, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: La Prairie, QC
Pay Range: $38 Per hour
One year contract
What's the Job?
- Support the integration of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the La Prairie site, ensuring full compliance with local and provincial regulations.
- Review existing EHS policies, identify gaps, and develop or update policies to align with best practices and organizational standards.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Review machinery and equipment to verify safety compliance, providing recommendations for modifications or safeguards as needed.
- Develop and train employees on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring safety protocols are effectively communicated and followed.
What's Needed?
- University degree related to Health and Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Strong understanding of local and provincial EHS regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to safety management.
