Position Overview The Tax Manager role is a highly visible, multi-disciplinary position responsible for tax compliance, reporting, planning, and audit management across Canadian operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment requiring strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will serve as the primary resource for Canadian tax matters within the North America Tax Department and will partner closely with Accounting, Legal, Finance, IT, and Project Finance teams. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance - Prepare schedules and supporting working papers for tax filings, estimated tax payments, extensions, and utility taxes - Prepare Canadian tax returns - Maintain and update thin capitalization models Canadian Green Tax Incentives - Collaborate with Development teams to assess and analyze applicable tax incentives for projects Financial Reporting - Gather and analyze financial data for internal and external reporting requirements - Generate SAP reports used for tax expense preparation, income tax returns, VAT, excise taxes, and related filings - Ensure compliance with tax policies and procedures Audit & Regulatory Support - Respond to notices from Canadian tax authorities - Manage Canadian tax audits across multiple jurisdictions - Liaise with government agencies as required Additional Responsibilities - Conduct tax research on relevant issues and legislative developments - Support special tax projects and additional assignments as needed Qualifications Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field - Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience - Experience with SAP, Tableau, and Avalara preferred Skills & Competencies - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities - Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments - Strong organizational and planning skills - French language fluency is considered an asset Compensation & Benefits - Competitive annual bonus program - Comprehensive health and wellness coverage - Generous RRSP/DPSP matching program - Paid time off programs - Career development and advancement opportunities - Mentorship and collaborative team environment Work Environment This is a hybrid office-based role involving regular use of computers, Microsoft applications, phones, and standard office equipment.
