Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator contributes to the effective services of the HR function and strengthens HR administrative systems by ensuring effective documentation, records management, talent and H&S administration, and data integrity in line with NCC organizational standards. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is often the first point of contact for employees with any inquiries related to their employment with NCC. Demonstrating client-centred skills while creating a positive employee experience is essential for success in this role.
Serving as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, this role supports multiple stages of the employee lifecycle, including Talent, onboarding, Health and safety, and general HR administration. This role is pivotal to ensure all questions raised are resolved and maintain a great employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to effective HR management through the effective and responsive handling ofHR-related questionssuch as talent opportunities,job postings,benefits, payroll, policies, andother HRactivities.
- Ensures theaccurateandtimelypreparation ofemployment letters, contracts, and documentation for new hires and internal changes.
- Deliver on service-level promises through thesubmission of employee data, managing related system or administrativechangesand providing a high-level of service and a quality experience to the HR team and internal clients.
- Support, enhance andmaintainaccurateand completeemployee records in the HRIS.
- Assistwithtimely,sensitiveand confidentialinternal communications and HR-related announcements.
- Provideadditionalsupport to employees, particularly during periods of extended absence (parental/ maternity/ disability/ accommodations).
- Assistwithidentifyingongoing improvement and streamlining opportunities of HR systems, recruitmentprocessesand otherworkflows.
- Collaboratewithtalentmanagementtocreate an engaging and positive onboarding processes and experiences fornew employees.
- Act as the primary liaisonand lead for job postings,candidate communications,references, etc.,ensuring professional, transparent, andtimelyrecruitment experience while strengthening coordination between candidates and hiring managers.
- Monitor and or trackvariousHR functions, seekopportunities to contribute data-drivenand value-addeddecisionsand supporting a culture of accountability and continuous development.
- Support the Talent team with the interns program (intern onboarding, tracking, offboarding and experience survey
- Assistingin the identification ofpotential employmentbarriersforcandidates from diverse backgrounds in support of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Indigenous framework.
- Responsible for theadministration,monitoringand reportingoftheservice awards program; (report, letters, point of contact).
- Partner with the HR Managers todeliver ongoing supportand service levels foremployee engagement, development, and recognition initiatives.
- Supportthe Health and Safety Managerwithincident reporting,training participation,meetingsandvariousongoing initiatives.
- Providing HR Coordinationsupport in various areas of human resources, and to various projects as needed.
Position Requirements
- At least three years ofexperience in acomplex and fast-pacedHRsupport, coordination or administrationroleand a good understanding of all aspects of the employee life cycle and the importance of people engagement.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field and/or a combination of relevant HR experience. Certification or working towards formal HR certification is desirable.
- Strong attention to detailwithahigh levelof accuracy, accountability,initiativeand service-focus.This role is well suited to candidates who like to engage with employees,are self-directed and always strive tocreatean elevated service experiencefor all.
- Fluent in both French and English with effective and professionalbusinesscommunicationskills (verbal and written).
- Effectiveproblem-solving,judgmentand organizationskills. The ability to assesssituations as they arise and knowing whenelevateissues.
- Strong technical competency with HRIS systemsincluding applicant tracking, preferably ADP Workforce Nowor a similar systemcombined with ahighproficiencylevelwith MS Office (Outlook,Excel,Word, PowerPoint).
- Human resourcesdesignation,preferred.
