Job Description : The Life Claims department supporting Individual Operations plays a crucial role with our clients, beneficiaries and advisors as we offer them financial help when they need it most. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to hold a position as Claims Consultant. This position offers the possibility to progress internally through our career ladder. The position is a full time permanent role.

As a Claims Consultant you are responsible for assessing group life claims.

Principales responsabilités

  • Determine how the contract applies to each claim

  • Assess claims and documentation received for a claim in order to reach a decision

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with clients, beneficiaries, advisors and various professionals and effectively manage their expectations

  • Maintain established service standards

  • Evaluate opportunities for process improvements and actively participate in team initiatives and projects

Compétences

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle written and telephone inquiries of a sensitive nature

  • Minimum of 2 years in a claims environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to provide quality service

  • Ability to balance high work volumes

  • Good organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

Exigences

  • Life claims adjudication experience

Atouts

  • Education involving knowledge of Medical terminology

  • College diploma/university degree/CEGEP degree or relevant experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
