Description du poste

Within the Commercial Banking division, the incumbent will be required to acquire the necessary knowledge to understand and prepare commercial credit files. They will support the Senior Director, Portfolio Management, and Account Managers in analyzing business models, conducting financial analysis, assessing risks, and evaluating collateral.

During the internship, the employee’s role will include:

  • Entering the client’s financial statements and other financial information into the risk rating calculation tool.
  • Performing financial analyses based on the client’s financial statements, conducting sensitivity analyses, and benchmarking results against industry standards for the relevant sector.
  • Completing the underwriting of credit requests, amendments, and annual file reviews within prescribed deadlines.
  • Identifying and analyzing risks associated with the client’s operations.
  • Monitoring and following up on irregularities within client portfolios.
  • Participating in meetings or conference calls with clients.
  • Carrying out tasks in accordance with established objectives while complying with applicable legislation, as well as the Bank’s policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Being involved in integrity and compliance processes (code of conduct, internal policies).

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Finance or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills (essential).
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interest in finance with solid analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong oral communication skills in both French and English*

* Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages
