Position summary
Department / Research Program: Gastroenterology

The incumbent will be involved with clinical research in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and more specifically ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Document and data management is a really essential part of this position. The incumbent will work closely with research team, IBD physicians as well as with allergy nurses mainly on various study protocols.

Principales responsabilités

  • Screens and collects medical charts of eligible patients(25%),
  • Follow-up of patients included in clinical trials, including care coordination (20%),
  • Reviews study protocols and informed consent forms (15%),
  • Completes source documents and electronic case report forms (10%),
  • Identify potential patients and obtain their consent (10%),
  • Collaborates and assists team members and sponsors’ representatives (10%),
  • Completes and maintains up-to-date specific trainings (5%),
  • Processes and prepares biological samples for international shipment (5%),
  • Contacts patients and their families as needed,
  • Assists Senior research staff with the ethics and regulatory tasks,
  • Completes of all other connected tasks as assigned by supervisor,
  • Complies with Good clinical practice standards (GCP).

Éducation

Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Science of Nursing
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor degree in Nursing

Work Experience: 1 year or more of clinical research

Compétences requises

  • Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
  • An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
  • Experience in Clinical Research,
  • Knowledge of clinical research world (GCP, Health Canada Division 5, ALCOA principles),
  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.
