RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
Under the authority of the Director of the Research Services Division, the Institutional Performance Supervisor leads the Performance Office. The incumbent oversees institutional research performance data and indicators that support strategic planning, accountability, and the optimization of institutional research funding, while supervising staff and coordinating institutional reporting, data governance, and visualization activities in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Tâches générales
- Manage the activities of the Performance and Research Data Management Office and contribute to the development and implementation of the office’s vision and priorities in collaboration with the Director of the Research Services Division.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, validation, and management of institutional data related to scientific productivity, including research funding, publications, trainee supervision, researcher profiles and status, and other scholarly activities.
- Coordinate processes related to institutional research funding and accountability, including the Federal Research Support Fund (FSRF), and oversee the preparation of strategic and institutional reports.
- Develop, analyze, and communicate institutional performance indicators and dashboards to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
- Oversee processes related to scientific appointments, onboarding of new researchers, updates of researcher profiles with the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQ-S), and the management of scholarship competitions for students and trainees.
- Ensure the management, development, and quality of research data systems and tools, including business intelligence mechanisms, data visualization platforms, and processes related to access to institutional data systems.
- Supervise office staff, establish operational priorities, monitor performance and professional development, and oversee the documentation of processes and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with internal administrative units and institutional partners (McGill University, affiliated hospitals, research centres, and provincial and national organizations) to harmonize research data management and sharing processes.
- Represent the Institute and participate in institutional and provincial committees and communities of practice related to research data management and scientific performance.

Formation / Expérience
Education / Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Pure or Applied Sciences, Master’s degree and/or academic research experience considered an asset.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in research administration, performance management, or data driven environments.

- Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English.
- Knowledge of research processes, including funding and publications.
- Experience in staff supervision is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and communicate the team’s vision and strategic priorities.
