As an Associate in the Funding & Liquidity team at National Bank, you’ll contribute directly to decision‑making related to funding structure and liquidity management. With your strong analytical skills, your experience in liquidity management and your knowledge of banking products and financial instruments, you’ll have a positive impact on risk management and financial results.

Your role:

  • Monitor and validate various liquidity metrics
  • Participate in the forecasting process for liquidity metrics
  • Develop tools to monitor liquidity risk
  • Conduct back‑testing analyses and contribute to improving forecasting capabilities
  • Propose strategies to optimize the funding structure and liquidity risk management
  • Participate in various financial analyses related to funding structure and liquidity management
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure a solid understanding of financial transactions and their impact on liquidity metrics

Your team:

The Funding and Liquidity team is responsible for managing liquidity and executing the Bank’s global funding strategy, both short and long term, including various funding programs. Spread across Montréal, Toronto, New York, and London, the team operates in a dynamic, international environment. It works closely with global securities finance team while playing a central role in liquidity risk management and internal liquidity pricing. The position reports to the Managing Director – Structural Funding and Liquidity.

Developing your skills is a core priority and will be supported through hands‑on learning, guidance from leadership, and collaboration with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of two years of experience (any equivalent combination of relevant experience will be considered)
  • Experience in liquidity management
  • Strong knowledge of financial products (financing, interest rates, foreign exchange, derivatives)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong programming skills
  • Rigor, attention to detail, and versatility
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Bilingualism (French/English) required due to frequent interactions with English‑speaking partners.
Languages: English, French Reason to require this language: you will need to discuss frequently with our service providers or partners who speak a language other than French.
