Job Description
RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
We are seeking an individual with experience in youth engagement, curriculum development and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in research. They will be involved in co-designing research and research training with youth of diverse backgrounds including a project with the South Asian community, and implementing the EDI plan for multicentre research studies and research teams involving all pediatric hospitals across Canada (POPCORN).They will also support other ongoing trials and studies related to child health equity.
General Duties
• Coordinate and lead co-design sessions with youth, researchers, and community members
• Assist in the planning and delivery of EDI and community of practice activities and curriculum development,
• Assist in writing study protocols and manuscripts,
• Manage the procedures with the Research Ethics Board and Contracts Office ( protocol approvals, amendments and annual renewals),
• Collaborate with national research teams,
• Engage with diverse key players,
• Design mixed-methods and community-based participatory research protocols,
• Administer questionnaires,
• Collect qualitative and quantitative data,
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data,
• Conduct literature reviews (including systematic reviews and meta-analysis),
• Help oversee volunteers and trainees,
• Assist in knowledge translation activities.

Education: Master's Degree
Field of Study: Public health, epidemiology or another health-related area
Work Experience: 2 years of experience in health research
Required Skills
• Previous experience in community-based participatory action and co-design research methods is essential,
• Previous work experience in clinical research is essential,
• Previous experience in quantitative and qualitative research is essential,
• Previous experience working with South Asian communities is an asset,
• Strong communication skills in both French and English (spoken and written) is essential,
• Strong communication skills in a South Asian language is an asset,
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills,
• Attention to detail and accuracy,
• Ability to work independently and in a team,
• Ability to multitask,
• Previous experience with RI-MUHC is an asset,
• Previous experience with working with multicultural communities is an asset,
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and qualitative software (Word, Excel, NVivo).
