Company Overview

Edelweiss Software Group is part of Valsoft Corporation, a long-term investor in vertical market software businesses. Valsoft acquires and operates mission-critical software companies with a permanent ownership mindset, emphasizing autonomy, disciplined growth, and sustainable long-term value creation.

Edelweiss operates a portfolio of vertical software businesses serving specialized end markets. As part of its next phase of value creation, Edelweiss is launching a commercial Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) designed to serve the end customers of its portfolio companies by improving their economics while strengthening customer loyalty and competitive differentiation.

Role Overview

The Head of GPO will lead the creation and scaling of a customer-facing commercial GPO that aggregates purchasing power across Edelweiss’ portfolio customer base.

This is not an internal procurement function. The GPO will be a value-added commercial platform offered to customers, designed to:

  • Improve customer cost structures
  • Increase retention and differentiation of portfolio software businesses
  • Unlock new monetization opportunities

This role blends strategy, partnerships, vendor negotiations, and commercial execution. A critical component of success will be leveraging industry relationships to accelerate vendor onboarding, secure attractive commercial terms, and establish credibility with customers and portfolio CEOs.

The Head of GPO will operate with significant autonomy, working directly with Edelweiss leadership and portfolio company CEOs.

Scope & Opportunity

  • Initial rollout across select Edelweiss portfolio companies
  • Immediate access to a meaningful installed base of end customers
  • Opportunity to scale across additional verticals over time

  • Negotiate pricing, rebates, service levels, and long-term commercial agreements
  • Structure win-win partnerships that scale with customer adoption
  • Develop category strategy across relevant spend areas

3. Commercial Model & Performance

  • Design and refine the revenue model (vendor-funded rebates, subscription fees, hybrid models, etc.)
  • Ensure measurable value creation for customers
  • Track adoption metrics, vendor performance, and customer outcomes
  • Drive continuous optimization of commercial economics

4. Go-To-Market & Adoption

  • Partner with portfolio CEOs to embed or bundle the GPO within customer workflows
  • Enable sales teams with messaging and value propositions
  • Support co-selling initiatives with vendors
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to internal leadership and external stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 8+ years in commercial leadership, partnerships, strategic sourcing, marketplaces, or adjacent roles
  • Existing vendor relationships within relevant industry ecosystems strongly preferred
  • Experience building or scaling a commercial platform, marketplace, or shared service model
  • Exposure to decentralized or multi-business portfolio environments is a plus
